Where it all began

What is Indiana Barnyard?

Indiana Barnyard was official founded in 2022 with one goal in mind: Provide a sanctuary for animals (both large and small) where they can live out their lives being their natural selves. In two short years, over 30 residents have called Indiana Barnyard home – from dogs and cats to goats, pigs, donkeys, mules and horses, our animal’s live side by side on our sanctuary land.

We make the following promises to all our animals:

  1. They will never miss a meal
  2. There will always be unlimited access to clean water
  3. Safe access to pastures and yards to roam and play
  4. Top of the line medical care
  5. Shelter from the elements

Our Values

Compassion

We believe in treating all animals with kindness and empathy, recognizing their intrinsic value and right to life free from suffering.

Stewardship

We are dedicated to the responsible care and management of our resources, ensuring the well-being of our residents and the sustainability of our sanctuary for years to come.

Advocacy

We actively promote the welfare of animals through education, awareness and proactive efforts to influence positive change in animal welfare policies and practices.

Transparent by Design

Where the money goes

At Indiana Barnyard we take our 501c3 Non-Profit status very seriously. Our finances are an open book – each year we publish our annual transparency report that breaks down how our funds were spent in great detail. This goes well beyond the reporting requirements to the IRS.

Our transparency reports are available on our website, archives are maintained for three years. The chart to the right is a high level of our typical cost breakdown.
